A Doctor, he practiced medicine in Epsom, NH for 8 years after getting his degree in 1837 from Harvard. He removed to Lowell, MA in 1845 where he resided 28 years. He did not marry and lived with his mother and sister. He died from heart disease, which had troubled him for many years, He is buried in the McClary Cemetery, Epsom, NH. Died age 64. Osgood Genealogy gives the year of birth as Sept. 15, 1809.

According to the City of Lowell Index to Deaths 1842-1875 Hanover Dickey died May 29, 1873 at age 63 yrs. 8 mos. 14 days. When calculated with that date of death shows he was born 15 Sept 1809 as the Osgood Genealogy quotes.
