Died at age 74. Removed to Lynn shortly after marriage where he was a "trader" & "mercahant". Buried Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Lived on Newall St. Kept a diary, several years in Epsom, NH, the remainder in Lynn. Was a Justice of the Peace and storeowner in Epsom, NH prior to marrying and moving to Lynn. Was Town Clerk and other officers. Diary is 10 volumes and is in the N.H. Historical Society in Concord, N.H. The Epsom, NH portion has been edited and is in the Epsom, NH Historical Association archives. He was described as long, lank."

Know all men by these presents that I Simon A. Heath of Epsom, NH in the county of Rockingham and State aforesaid, Gentleman, For and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dolllars, to me in hand before the delivery hereof, well and truly paid by James Babb of Epsom, NH, aforesaid, Trader, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained, sold and by these presents do give, grant, bfargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said James Babb his heirs and assigns forever, all the right, title, interest, claim and pretension that I have in & unto a certain tract of land in Epsom, NH aforesaid, containing one hay acre adjoining the turnpike & old road leading from Epsom, NH to Northwood being the same & all the land which was conveyed to William Dickey, late of Epsom, NH deed by Moses Osgood as will appear by his deed dated the twenty third day of June A.D. one thousand eight hundred & seventeen, reference being had thereto for a more particular description; also the house standing thereon.~ the property aforesaid having been conveyed to me by Thomas D. Merrill, administrator on the estate of Wm. H. Dicket, late of Epsom, NH deed by deed bearing date the 28th day of November A.D. 1821, reference being had thereto-

Buried in McClary Cemetery. Died at age 64. A cordwainer/shoemaker in Epsom, NH. His will gave his wife Anna 1/3 of estate - James and Lydia Lang to each get $1.00 - John (Jr.) to get the house (where he was living) and dau. Elizabeth the "Privilege of the west bed room and furniture "etc. as long as she choose to reside in the familly. The rest of the estate was given to Philip who was also executor.
WILL of John Babb March 9, 1831
I John Babb of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following:
First I give and bequeath to my wife Anna Babb one third part of all my real estate for and during the term of her natural life \endash Also I give to my said wife all my household furniture excepting two beds and bedding, one eight day clock, one writing desk and Scotts Family Bible, during the term aforesaid. I also give to my wife one cow.
Secondly I give to my son James Babb one dollar to be paid by my Executor in two years after my decease.
Thirdly, I give to my daughter Lydia Lang one dollar to be paid by my Executor in two years after my decease.
Fourthly I give and devise to my son John Babb Junr all the land and buildings where he now lives meaning all the lands which I purchased of Samuel Langmaid, James H. McClary and Reuben Sanborn, as will appear by their deeds to me \endash also ten acres of land off the northerly side of the lot which I purchased of William Yeaton Jr., being part of lot No. twenty four in the first range in Epsom \endash also one pair of small cart wheels which he has now in his possession and the half of a pew in Epsom meeting house in the gallery, the same that I bought of Simon Cass.
Fifthly, I give and devise to my daughter Elizabeth Babb, one good bed and bedding and the privilege of a bed room, for a lodging room, meaning the west bedroom in my house. Also I give to the said Elizabeth my high case of drawers and my linen wheel and one small chest made by Daniel Philbrick the 5th. I also will to the said Elizabeth a comfortable support and maintenance out of that part of my estate which I hereafter devise to my Executor to be furnished her by the said executor, so long as she shall choose to reside in his family and labour for his benefit when she is able so to do \endash and if the said Elizabeth should at any time hereafter choose to leave the family of my executor and relinquish her claim on him for support, then he is to pay her fifty dollars, one half to be paid in household furniture and the other half in neat stock.
All the rest and residue of my Estate, both real and personal, after the payment of my debts and legacies, I do give and bequeath to my son Philip Babb, and I do hereby constitute and appoint the said Philip Babb sole Executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of March A.D. 1831.
