WILL of Enoch Brown Jr. 1824
In the name of God, Amen.
I Enoch Brown Jur. of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and the State of New Hampshire, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say '96
First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elinor Brown, a certain tract of land containing twenty five acres more or less which I purchased of Elijah Gove of Epsom; also I give and bequeath unto my wife, all the land on the west side of the road which my father gave me a deed of, with all the appurtenances belonging thereto to be to her use and benefit as long as she remains my widow, and after her decease or marriage, I will that the land last described with the appurtenances belonging thereto to be divided among my children equally, also I give unto my wife three cows and six sheep to be to her use and benefit as long as she remains my widow, and then to be equally divided among my children '96 also I give to my wife my clock as long as she remains my widow, and then to go to the use of my children '96 also I give and bequeath unto my wife all the remainder of my household furniture to be for her use and benefit forever. And lastly, I appoint my wife Eleanor Brown sole executrix of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.

GREETING.
THE said executrix is hereby cited to appear at the court of probate, to be holden at Concord in said county, on the third Tuesday of January next, to render an account of the administration of said estate; and the said heirs, and others concerned, are also cited to appear at said court, that they may be heard on the said account.

"(died) At Epsom, NH on 25th inst., Mr. Enoch Brown, a wealthy and respected citizen. In the war of the revolution he marched for Saratoga to assist in the capture of Burgoyne."

At Epsom, on the 25th inst in the 77th year of his age, Mr. Enoch Brown, a wealthy and respected citizen. In the war of the revolution, he marched, (with the other volunteers from this section of the state) for Saratoga, to assist at the capture of Burgoyne.
There were several Brown families. Enoch settled on the North Road before 1790, on land given him by his father, Jonathan, of Kensington. (JMM)

WILL of Enoch Brown - 1824
In the name of God Amen. I Enoch Brown of Epsom in the County of Rockingham and State of New Hampshire, husbandman, being at this time thro the goodness of God of a sound disposing mind and memory do ordain this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made - and in the first place I recommend my soul to God thro the merits of Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried - and as to my worldly estate I dispose thereof in the manner following.
First - My will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid by my Executor hereafter named in a convenient time after my decease.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son John Brown one dollar to be paid by my Executor in one year after my decease he having had his portion of my estate already.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Brown's children one dollar to be paid by my Executor in one year after my decease, they having had their portion of my estate already.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Carlton, one dollar, to be paid by my Executor in one year after my decease, she having had her portion of my estate already.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Jonathan Brown one dollar to be paid by my Executor in one year after my decease, he having had his portion of my estate already.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Enoch Brown all my land, property or real estate lying and situated in the town of Epsom in the County and State aforesaid, with all my buildings, stock of cattle, horses, sheep and swine and all my furniture in my house, beds and bedding and all my farming tools for man and beast to work with - Also the one half of my pew in Epsom Meeting house and one half of the cider house and mill owned in partnership. This I give to the said Enoch and his heirs and assigns forever.
And I do hereby appoint by aforesaid (son) Enoch Brown sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament - and if any part of my estate be not herein disposed of, it shall be the property of the Executor.
In confirmation of all the foregoing, I hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four. - Enoch Brown

EPSOM, Feb. 20 - Mrs. Ethel Brown Day of New Rye died at the home a little after noon on Monday, Feb. 19 after a brief illness with pneumonia. She was born in Boston June 2, 1876, the daughter of John Calvin Brown and Nancy Briggs Brown. Mrs. Day was a graduate of Pembroke Academy, and later studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. She taught music in the schools of Epsom and Hooksett. In 1901 she was married to William J. Dooley of Boston. She married Thomas Day in 1908 and spent most of her married life in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Mrs. Day was a member of Buntin Chapter DAR of Pembroke, Ivygreen Rebekah lodge of Short Falls, of, the Salem Mass., Woman's club and the Though and Work club of Salem. Through her interest in music, Mrs. Day was active in choir work in churches in Moosup, Conn., Salem, Mass., and in New Rye. For the last few years she had lived at the family home in New Rye.
Mrs. Day is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nancy Briggs Brown, two children, Mrs. Madeleine Ewer Yeaton and Robert Howard Day, and five grandchildren. Funeral services conducted by Rev Milton C. Froyd, will be at the home on Wednesday afternoon and burial at the New Rye cemetery. Bearers W.H. Tripp, Frank E. Brown, George H. Haynes, Walter B. Wells, Ralph L. Cass and N. Scott Munroe.
