Notes
General:
NHVR death record gives date of birth as May 8, 1841 in Deerfield, parents True Langley and Eliza Dowst. Died age 93-11-23.
Buried in Short Falls Cemetery, Epsom, NH. Died at age 93. Age 93-11-24 which calculates to birth of May 8, 1841, which is likely incorrect.
1850 Census gives her age as 7, and following the ages of the other children in the house hold (ages 17, 15, 13) she is age 7, the space between ages of the children coinciding with True Langley, her father's, second marriage.
1860 US Census, Deerfield, living with Samuel Whittier, Rosette Langley, age 17, putting birth year as 1843.
1870 Census gives her age as 28, giving birth year as 1842 with middle initial E.
1880 US Census, age given as 39, giving birth year as 1841
Age in 1900 US Census, 60, giving a birth year as 1840, unlike most entries, no month is given.
Age in 1910 US Census, 65, putting birth year as 1845
Age in 1920 Census, 75, putting birth year as 1845
Age in 1930 Census, 87, giving birth year as 1843
Age at marriage in 1864, 22, putting birth year as 1842.
Epsom, NH - Special to the Union (1935) - Mrs. Rosetta Langley Libbey. Epsom, NH's oldest resident, died at her home in the Mountain district on Wednesday noon, after a brief illness. Mrs. Libbey was born in Deerfield on May 8, 1841, and would have observed her 94th birthday next week. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Langley. Mrs. Libbey was married to Moses Libbey of Allenstown, NH in 1864. She had six children, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by two brothers, John Langley of Suncook and F. Judson Colcord of Exeter. The children are Mrs. Etta L. Babb of Deerfield, Walter Libbey fo Suncook, James T., Kidder, John L. and Clarence M. Libbey of Epsom, NH. The funeral services will be held at the home on Friday afternoon with Rev. Ralph T. Osborn, pastor of the Epsom, NH Baptist chruch, officiating. Burial will be in the Langley lot at the Short Falls cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Victor E. LeBlanc of Suncook.
The obit gives incorrect parents names, and a birth date of 1841 when her parents were married 1843. In fact, a Rosina Langley died in 1894, Salisbury, MA, born 1843 in Raymond, burial in Deerfield, daughter of Timothey and Eliza Brown Quimby, who married Thomas J.Langley. One side of the stone is LIbbey, the other side Langley, which includes her mother and brother, John Dowst Langley (whose birth on the gravestone also predates the marriage).

Notes
General:
1800 Census shows 3 males under 10, one over ten, and one 26-44, this matches the burials in the cemetery for sons A-D below. Also included were 2 females under ten and his spouse.Marriage Notes (Hannah Griffin)
The 1800 census also shows the household of James Langley over 44; and households of James, Samuel and Benjamin, all 26 to 44, which may indicate James as the father of the other three, all which have young children in the census.
1810 Census for Chichester shows Samuel still with 4 sons and 2 daughters.
The papers on Samuel Langley list his wife as Hannah....his probate is dated Feb 23, 1836. Interestingly there is a Joseph French as a witness to this document. which may be just coincidental. Later I see Joseph French listed as an appraiser.
