From his Revolutionary War Pension file "that in the summer of 1777 his father, Eldad Langley of Nottingham was drafted for a service of 4 months and that he took his father's place. He said he was born in Nottingham, and except for time in the service, he has lived there his entire life. The pension record also contains 08 Oct 1838 deposition by son Thomas Langley of Nottingham, age 45, stating that his father died in Nottingham Nov 14, 1836, that he is the youngest of his father's family, and that Benjamin and his wife, Elizabeth, were married about 1776"
