Little is known to place this John as probably the first born and son of Robert and Nancy McDaniel. He is living in Epsom, along with parents in the 1840 US Census, and a school roster shows children at the North Road School: Esther S. 11, John, 10, Polly, 8 and Maria, age 6.
This family appears in the 1850 US Cenus in Durham, NH

Durham, NH
In 1860 there is John McDaniel still in Durham, now age 60 with a different wife, Hannah, born abt. 1805. Also in the household is Julia Willy, age 14 (born about 1846). Susan McDaniel, a sister to John, married a William Willey.
No death record or burial has been found to date for this John McDaniel. Not to be confused with John McDaniel of Concord, NH, same time period with wife Sarah J. - From online source, he is listed as pauper on his death certificate.
Children from school record and 1850 US Census.
