The roof of the shed adjoining the dwelling house of J.H. Tripp took fire from a spark blown from the chimney on the 2 inst, and but for its timely discovery the extensive farm building must all have burned down.

EPSOM \endash Henry M. Smith, 85, of Epsom, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, June 2, 2017, at Epsom Healthcare Center.
Born on Aug. 14, 1931, in Greenwich, Conn., he was the son of the late William and Laura (Crowther) Smith.
Henry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. After his military service, he worked at Sprague Electric before moving on to work for the State of NH in the Air Resources Division for 20 years until his retirement.
Henry was a long time member of the American Legion and a Mason of 52 years. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, fishing and trips to the beach and camping with his family. He was an avid bowler for 10 years in the Sunday Night Mixed League in Concord. His pride and joy was his family and 61 year marriage to beloved wife, Barbara. Always known for being a "character", Henry brought a smile to, not only, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren's faces, but all those who interacted with him.
Besides his parents, Henry was predeceased by two brothers, William and Bernie Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Mosher) Smith of Epsom; sons, Donald M. Smith of Epsom, Douglas E. Smith and Pam Halen-Smith of Epsom and Dean A. Smith of Pittsfield; daughter, Debra S.
