Bought land in Epsom, NH 1748 of Foster Treferren (Trefethen, original proprietor of this land), Lot 93 of 88 acres, which was later in the hands of his son's Nathaniel and Abraham. By 1754 he was in Barrington.
Birth of children from Greenland Church Records which end 1751.
Samuel4 WALLIS born say 1715, based on his marriage, son of William3-2 and Martha (---) Wallis. Samuel's baptism does not survive as his siblings records do, but he is listed first in his father's will. Samuel married at Greenland on 23 June 1737 to Phebe LIBBY, daughter of Abraham3 (Anthony2 John1) and Sabina (Philbrick) Libby. [Greenland VRs, p. 47, NEHGR 65:355]. She was born in Portsmouth on 15 April 1720 [NEHGR 24 (1870):358] and died prior to 1755 when Samuel remarries. Samuel married second at Durham on 7 February 1755, Sedeny (variantly given as Sidna or Sibna, perhaps a variant of Sabena) TILLEY, daughter of Samuel and Jane (---) Tilley of Durham. Samuel died after 7 December 1781 but before 1 January 1793, when his second wife is called a widow [Strafford Co. Deeds 15:518].
Samuel is apparently living in Greenland after his marriage where five of his children are baptized. On 9 April 1737, Nathaniel Huggins, Jr. of Greenland, joiner, for eight pounds, sold to Samuel Wallis of Greeenland, laborer, 40 acres in Epsom described as "1/2 of a 50 acre lot I bought of Jediah Weeks of Greenland it being #19 one of ye lots granted to ye twenty men for settlement and 15 acres more not yet divided." [NHPD 35:311] On 27 February 1747, Samuel Wallis of Greenland, laborer for 25 pounds sold to Andrew McClary of Nottingham, yeoman, 40 acres in Epsom, precisely described as the foregoing deed. [NHPD 35:313] Both deeds were recorded together on 27 April 1748. On 17 December 1754, Samuel Wallis of Barrington, gentleman sold to Thomas Bickford of Epsom, husbandman, a 50 acre lot in Epsom. [rec. 12 March 1760, NHPD 61:70]. On the same day Thomas Bickford of Epsom, husbandman sold to Samuel Wallis of Barrington, husbandman, 60 acres in Epsom, it being lot #89 in the third range and 32 1/2 acres in lot 88. [Rockingham Co. Deeds 61:145] Samuel is next mentioned in the will of his father, William, and given a token monetary gift (three shillings), his portion having already been given. On 7 December 1781, Samuel Wallis of Barrington, yeoman sells to Weymouth Wallis of Epsom, yeoman, a tract in Epsom, one half of the lot no. 93 in the third range belonging to the original right of Foster Trefethern. [rec. 14 Aug. 1789, Rockingham Co. Deeds 125:278]. Samuel nor his second wife appear in the 1790 census and there is no probate record for them. His wife Phebe never released dower on deeds. There survives no deeds to Samuel from his father William and none from Samuel to any of his sons, despite the fact that at least one deed from Nathaniel alludes to the fact he gained the land from his father. On 1 January 1793, Sidna Wallace of Barrington widow, for 60 pounds sold to Thomas Glass of Nottingham, land in Barrington, 35 acres 1/2 lot formerly owned by Samuel Tilley of Barrington. She signed by mark as "Sibna Wallace". [rec. 2 May 1793, Strafford Co. Deeds 15:518]
His children are gleaned solely from baptismal records. There may be more. (research of M. Hollick)
General Notes: Wife - Phebe Libbey
Probably died young is what is given in the "Libby Family in America (1882)" with the operative word "probably". The church records of Greenland give a marriage of a Phebe Libby to Samuel Wallace about 1737. This is the only Phebe Libby, and earliest, mentioned in the Libby Genealogy, whose date of birth would fit this marriagge date. There are also ties from Samuel Wallace, spouse, and her father, Abraham Libbey, to Epsom, NH.
Notes: Marriage
The Chruch records of Greenland do not have the year of marriage, though it is in a list by month in which those married ahead of them are all 1737, so it would follow that this would be the correct year.

General Notes: Husband - John Wells
Epsom, NH Church records record his death at age 45. An IGI file would put his birth around 1784. He died intestate and John Chesley settled the estate. The 1800 US Census gives in his household 1 male between 26-45, a female 10-16, 1 female 26-45 and 1 female 45+. Since he did not marry Rachel Libbey until 1815, then it is possible that he married earlier, since the female between 26 and 45 could not be Rachel, as 1)they were not married yet, and 2) she would be under age 26.
