Quite an accident happened on Monday. Walter Yeaton, his sister Christie, Mary Griffin and a Miss James were out riding when their horse fell down, throwing them out, injuring them al except Miss Yeaton who escaped with a few bruises. Miss Griffin had a bad cut over one eye and her face badly bruised. Miss James had one limb badly sprained, Walter had his neck hurt. It was a narrow escape for them all.

WILL of William Yeaton June 11, 1831
In the name of God, Amen. I William Yeaton of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, being weak in body, but of sound disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say:
First I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate by Executor hereafter named.
Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Hannah Yeaton, the full one third part of my real estate for her use and benefit during the term of her natural life '96
Also I give my said wife one cow and three sheep to be at her disposal and all my household furniture which is not herein after bequeathed.
Thirdly I give and bequeath to the children of my son William Yeaton Jr., deceased, one dollar each to be paid in six months after my decease.
Fourthly I give and bequeath to my son John Yeaton, one dollar to be paid in six months after my decease.
Fifthly I give and devise to the children of my son Jonathan Yeaton, deceased, one dollar each to be paid in six months after my decease.
Sixthly I give and devise to my son Samuel T. Yeaton one dollar to be paid in six months after my decease.
Seventhly, I give and devise to my son Hopley Yeaton, all the land I own in lot No. eighty-six in the third range of lots in said Epsom, excepting a piece occupied as a burying ground five rods square in the corner of the field northwesterly of the house where I now live; passing and repassing to and from the same at all times when necessary '96
Also all the land I own adjoining the New Hampshire Turnpike which I purchased of Isaac L. Ham and all the land I own in lot No. 85 in the third range '96
Also all the land I own in lot No. 87 lying between the road and the pond '96 Also one half of my farming utensils of every description '96
Also my neat stock excepting what is hereinafter bequeathed and heretofore given to my wife '96
Also my eight day clock and all the blacksmith tools, and all my money at interest or on hand.
Eighthly, I give and devise to my son Levi T. Yeaton all the land I own in lot No. 84 in the third range in said Epsom '96 one yoke of oxen, one cow and six sheep and one half of my farming utensils of every description to be divided at my decease.
Ninthly I give and devise to my daughters Sally Goss and Hannah Towle one dollar each to be paid in six months after my decease.
Tenthly I give and bequeath to my grandson William Goss one dollar to be paid in six months after my decease.
Lastly, I give and devise to my son John Yeaton five dollars in cash, also all the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal not herein bequeathed; and I hereby appoint the said John Yeaton Executor of this my last Will and Testament, directing him to pay all the before mentioned legacies together with my debts out of that portion of my property which I have herein bequeathed to my son Hopley Yeaton and I hereby revoke all former wills made by me mad and ratify and confirm this as my last Will and Testament.
In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of June Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

I William Yeaton of Epsom in the County of Rockingham and State of New Hampshire, Yeoman, being of a sound mind and disposing memory, So make and ordain this my last will and testament- First, my will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be first paid out of my estate by my Executix hereafter named.
Item I give to my wife Sarah Yeaton her right of dower in my estate as the law directs.
Item I give to Hannah Pettingill, sister to my wife, a maintenance out of my estate with what property she has of her own, meaning s aupport out of my estate after what estate she has of her own shall be expended in her support.
Item I give to my daughter Hannah Yeaton twenty five dollars to be paid to her when she arrives to the age of twenty one years unless she should sooner marry, and if she should sooner mary, then at the time of her marriage.
Item I give to my daughter Sarah Yeaton twenty five dollars to be paid to her when she arrives to the are of twenty one years, unless she should sooner marry, and should she sooner marry, then at the time of her marriage.
Item I give to my daughter Lucretia Yeaton twenty five dollars to be paid to her when she arrives to the are of twenty one years, unless she should sooner marry, and should she sooner marry, then at the time of her marriage.
Item I give to my daughter Susanna Yeaton twenty five dollars to be paid to her when she arrives to the are of twenty one years, unless she should sooner marry, and should she sooner marry, then at the time of her marriage.
All the aforesaid legacies to be paid out of my estate by my Executrix.
All the rest and residue of my estate, both real and personal, whatever and wheresoever, not before disposed of in this will, including my wife's dower after her decease, I give and bequeath to my son John Yeaton, to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
And I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Sarah Yeaton Executrix of this my last will and testament.
