He began the practice of medicine in Epsom, NH in 1800 where he stayed until 1819. Removed to Concord where he was registrar of Deeds in 1823 and later was Judge of Probate and Treasurer of the State of NH 1828.

DR. SAMUEL MORRILL. (Brother of Gov. David L. Morrill of New Hampshire.) He was born in 1779. He married in Sept., 1802, Elizabeth Kimball. 484005. Physician. He practiced nineteen years at Epson, N. H., where he held important offices. He removed in 1819 to Concord, N. H. Dartmouth College gave him the honorary degree of M. D., in 1826. Justice of the Court of Sessions of Rockingham County, N. H., 1821. Register of Deeds of Merrimac County, 1823-8. State Treasurer, 1828. Treasurer of N. H. Branch Education Society, 1829. Treasurer of New Hampshire Savings Bank, 1830-58. Deacon in Congregational Church, 1837. He died in 1858.
There is no cemetery stone showing (2000), but an obvious space next to spouse is probably the location of burial.

In this city [Concord] Sept. 7, after illness of two days, Hon. Samuel Morrill, aged 79. Dr. Morrill was a native of Epping - was admitted in early life to the practice of medicine, which he commenced in Salisbury. In 1800 he removed to Epsom, where he held important local offices, and in 1819 became a resident of Concord. In 1821 he was appointed a Justice of the Court of Sessions; represented the town of Concord in the Legislature of 1822; was the first Register of Deeds of Merrimack County; was Judge of Probate of said county from 1823 to 1828; when he was chosen Treasurer of the State. Upon the organization of the N.H. Savings Bank in Concord, in 1830, he was chosen Treasurer and continued to discharge his duties as such, as he had those of all other trusts, with signal fidelity, till his resignation in 1856.

David Lawrence Morrill of Epsom, gentleman to Samuel Morrill of Epsom, physician, parcels of land in Epsom, the first being the same which I purchased of William McClary and a part of the parsonage land on which Mr. Hazeltine now lives, reference being had to said deed dated at Epsom the 4th day of April 1796. Also a tract of land which I purchased fo Simon A. Heath containing one acre being a part of the land which the said Heath purachsed of Samule J Tucke, reference heing had to said deed dated at Epsom January 15th 1799. Also a tract of land which I purchased of John Wells and Nathan Marden Jr. being a part of lot No. 18 in the first fange, reference being had to said deed dated Epsom February 18, 1799, with all the buildings privileges thereunto belonging.
