In the 1850 US Census for Allenstown, NH she is living with Samuel Hartford (78), Lucy Hartford (58 [a Lucy Hartford Thurston York died in Allenstown, NH Feb. 5, 1875 age 81, which is this Lucy), a sister Hannah (12) and also a Benjamin Steward (50). It would seem unlikely that this Samuel is her father, and Nute Genealogy records give her parents as Samuel Hartford and Deborah Yorke. There is a record of Samuel Hartford Jr. marries Deborah Yorke June 25, 1840, which is after the birth date of the two girls. I would surmise she is living with a grandparent and stepmother, who might be a Steward with her brother living in the household. Certainly there might have been a divorce. Since Samuel Jr. married Deborah Yorke, then again, the Samuel in the 1850 census would most likely be a grandfather.
