General:

From "A Guide to the Old Dwelling Places of Northwood, NH" by Joann Weeks Bailry -
"Samuel Durign, originally from Lee, acquired the north ends of lost 12 and 13, ninth range. (Sunset Hill). He soon added the southwest corner of lot 16, tenth ranfe so that he then owned the whole top of the hill. The one hundred acre farm on the hill belonged to the During family from the 1790's to about the time of the Civil War, well over half a century.
Samuel Durgin, Sr. died about 1815. His widow survived him, living on the hill until her death in 1836. He son, Jospeh, lived ther unitl 1830. A grandson, Joseph, suceeded Joseph.
The Durgins were followed on Sunser Hill by the (John E.) Days who lived there for about fifty years."

Samuel Durgin of Lee bought of David and Margaret Page of Northwood (R 120-268 Aug. 3, 1785) the west half of lot 26, 9th range, with buildings, about 73 acres.

Samuel Durgin of Lee (R 132-275 mar. 29, 1786) bought of John and Mary Kilborn of Northwood, 2 tracts of land in Northwood, one about 25 acres, adjoining in sound end of lot 26.

Samuel Durgin of Northwood, husbandman, bought of Mehitable Burlieigh (R 133-308 March 26, 1793) of Newmarket, spinster, land set off to her from estate of her father John Burleigh, estimated 104 acres in lot 13 and 14, 9th range, Northwood, north ends of said lots with buildings.
