NOTICE.
ALL persons are forbid purchasing a promissory note purporting to be given by me to Stephen Rand, of Epsom, for about eighteen dollars, dated September 24, 1824 00 as the same was improperly obtained.

Upon the death of his first wife, who was mentioned in the Will of her father, William, the following document was filed:
To the Hon. Horace Chase Judge of Probate for the County of Merrimack -
Represents Stephen Rand of Epsom, NH in said County that he has four sons, minors; Rice H. Rand and Sewel Rand over fourteen years of age and Silver A. Rand & Charles W. Rand under fourteen years of age, and one daughter Judith P. Rand under fourteen years of age, who are, as heirs of Betsy Rand, their deceased Mother, entitled to a legacy bequeathed to the said Betsy by the last Will and Testament of William Rand, late of said Epsom, NH deceas'd - That it is necessary to appoint some suitable person Guardian of the said Minors for the purpose of receiving said property and holding it for their use and benefit.
Will of Stephen Rand
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Stephen Rand of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and the State of New Hampshire, being weak in body, but of a sound and perfect mind and memory (for which I have reason to praise God) do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament and herein dispose of all my worldly estate in manner following to wit:
First, I order and direct my executor herein named to pay all my just debts and funeral charges, soon as may be after my decease.
Second I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Rand one half of my live stock and farming tools, and two thirds of my household furniture; and all my notes, money in bank, and cash on had after the payment of my said debts and funeral charges and the sums of money herein after mentioned.
Also I give and devise to my said wife Mary Rand, for and during the term of her natural life, the homestead farm upon which I now reside situated in said Epsom containing about fifty acres, excepting one half of the house, barn and barnyard on said premises.
I do also give and devise to my said wife during the said term of her natural life, the lot of land I purchased of William Goss situated in said Epsom, also the right to cut wood for one fire upon the Chapman lot (so called) to have and to hold the same to her and her assigns with all the appurtenances thereto belonging for and during the term aforesaid.
I also give and bequeath to my said wife during the said term of her natural life one third part of all the apples that shall grow upon the Bickford place (so called) situated in said Epsom.
Third I give and bequeath to my son Rice Rand one half of my live stock and one third part of my household furniture and one half of my farming tools.
Also I give and devise to my said son Rice Rand for and during the term of his natural life the Bickford place (so called) situated in said Epsom excepting one third part of the apples that shall grow thereon during the lifetime of my said wife.
Also I give and devise to said Rice Rand during the said term of his natural life one half of the house, barn and barnyard situate on the said homestead farm.
Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Bennett Rand the sum of twenty dollars
Fifth I give and bequeath to my son Silver Rand the sum of fifty dollars
Sixth I give and bequeath to my son Charles Rand the sum of ten dollars
Seventh I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Annette Batchelder the sum of one dollar
All the aforesaid sums of money I order to be paid in one year after my decease.
Eighth, I give and devise to my sons Rice Rand and Charles Rand the Chapman place so called situate in said Epsom, excepting the said right of my wife to cut wood thereon to be theirs and theirs forever.
Lastly I give, bequeath and devise to my sons Rice Rand, Silver Rand, and Charles Rand, theirs heirs and assigns forever all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed wherever found and however situated to be equally divided between them; and I do hereby appoint my said wife Mary Rand sole executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two.
