"Vermont Historical Register "Major Morrill in 1793, with his wife (maiden name Peggy Day), two daughters and four sons moved from Epsom, NH, to St. Albans, Vermont. Amos was a major, then Captain, at the Battle of Bunker Hill, etc.
NH Historical Society, Concord, NH Amos Morrill appears as a Lieut. on a payroll of Capt. Henry Dearborn's Company, Col. John Stark's Regiment, to Aug. 1, 1775, commissioned April 23, 1775, residence Epsom, NH, N.H.
Heitman's Historical Register of Officers One of the first companies brought together at Epsom, he there enlisted as a Lieutenant. At Bunker Hill the captain was killed and Amos was there made captian. He was with Ethan Allen at the taking of Ticonderoga and was one of the eight men to go into the enemy's camp at night and demand surrender 'in the name of Jehovah land the Continental Army."
Amos Morrill was a major land owner in Epsom, NH, owner of several lots.

To the Honorable the Council & House of Representatives for said State in General Assembly convened June 1780, humbly shows, Amos Morrill Capt in the first regiment from said State, now in the service of the United States, That your petitioner has for some months lately past, been necessarily detained upon public business at Exeter in behalf of the New Hampshire Brigade, during which time he has nearly exhausted his fund of the present circulating currency '96 that although your petitioner hath notes from this State for the depreciation of his wages, which are negotiable, yet he cannot exchange the same for currency unless he should sell them greatly under value '96 that your petitioner is now ordered to camp immediately, and hath not wherewith to defray his necessary expense thereto '96 Therefore prays, that your honors would advance to your Petitioner Nine Hundred pounds in the present currency from the Treasury of said State and for which sum he will account as may by the Honorable Court be thought proper '96 therefore your petitioner will ever pray. A second containing about 100 acres, chiefly under improvement, with a house, barn, orchard, &c. thereon.
A third containing about 90 acres, under some improvement, with a house and barn on the same, and a good privilege for saw and grist mills.

A mill for grinding Scythes in a good place for a blacksmith, where he may have a good run of business.
