From descendant Beth Frederick: My mother and I believe Benjamin Goodwin born 1748 died about 1793 and Lydia Worth Goodwin born 1744 died about 1790 during child birth with their last child Timothy Goodwin born April 2, 1790 based on the tax and deed information that you provided. We think Benjamin, Lydia and 3 of their children (Rhoda, Lydia and Anna) must be buried on the last 115 acres of land that Benjamin owned in Epsom.
After Joseph paid the taxes in 1794 he was in Morristown, NY where he died (November 21, 1848) and is buried. Sarah Crawford Goodwin then moved with most of her children to Wilmington, Will County, IL where she died and is buried. Which may have led to the confusion of Benjamin S Goodwin born September 26, 1780. It appears he never left New Hampshire. Born in Epsom, married in Claremont, NH November 13, 1813 to Fanny Spencer (1795-1883) had 5 children (that I know of so far) and died in Claremont, NH May 20, 1857 and is buried.
Gilman, Nathan, Jacob and Timothy (the 3 older probaby helped each other raise Timothy) appear to have gone to Vermont. Timothy married his 1st wife in Franklin County, Vermont and later died in Ohio. Gilman, Nathan and Jacob died in Franklin County, Vermont.
He appears placing a newspaper ad in January 1792 for the selling of two parcels of land for unpaid taxes, as he was constable at the time (1779 and 1782).
