General:

EPSOM -- Eleanor (Lear) Briggs, 91, of Short Falls Road, died Feb. 18, 2003, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester, the daughter of Fred and Frances (Bennett) Lear. She was a graduate of Manchester High School West class of 1930A. She had lived in Epsom for most of her life.
She was employed by Sanel Auto Parts in Concord, as an accounts payable clerk for 23 years, retiring in 1978. She also was the correspondent from Epsom for the Suncook Valley Sun for many years.
She was a member of the Rebekahs and had held the office of Noble Grand for many years and also was the secretary and the musician.
Music was a big part of her life, from local variety shows and sing-alongs at nursing homes. She was the organist at the New Rye Congregational Church for the last 50 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Briggs, in 1979.
Members of her family include two sons, Ronald A. Briggs and Leland F. Briggs, both of Epsom; four granddaughters, one grandson, three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
