DEERFIELD - Irene B. (Brown) Shores, 92, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Concord Regional Hospice, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Northwood, the daughter of John F. and Marion L. (Knowlton) Brown.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the state of New Hampshire.
She held membership in Deerfield Community Church Ladies Aid, Deerfield Woman's Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Deerfield Historical Society, Deerfield Heritage Commission, Deerfield Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary, Deerfield Conservation Commission, the Deerfield Fair Association - life member, Daughter's of the American Revolution and Coe Brown Alumni Association, Class of 1935. She was also an oil painting artist.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Folger Allen Shores, in 1996.
Members of her surviving family include her husband, John Crummy of Deerfield; three daughters, Diane Shores, Kristin Shores and Marily Marquis, all of Deerfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Deerfield Community Church, 11 Old Center Road N., Deerfield.
Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the church.
Burial will be held at Old Centre Cemetery, Deerfield.
