EPSOM, Feb. 20 - Mrs. Ethel Brown Day of New Rye died at the home a little after noon on Monday, Feb. 19 after a brief illness with pneumonia. She was born in Boston June 2, 1876, the daughter of John Calvin Brown and Nancy Briggs Brown. Mrs. Day was a graduate of Pembroke Academy, and later studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. She taught music in the schools of Epsom and Hooksett. In 1901 she was married to William J. Dooley of Boston. She married Thomas Day in 1908 and spent most of her married life in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Mrs. Day was a member of Buntin Chapter DAR of Pembroke, Ivygreen Rebekah lodge of Short Falls, of, the Salem Mass., Woman's club and the Though and Work club of Salem. Through her interest in music, Mrs. Day was active in choir work in churches in Moosup, Conn., Salem, Mass., and in New Rye. For the last few years she had lived at the family home in New Rye.
Mrs. Day is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nancy Briggs Brown, two children, Mrs. Madeleine Ewer Yeaton and Robert Howard Day, and five grandchildren. Funeral services conducted by Rev Milton C. Froyd, will be at the home on Wednesday afternoon and burial at the New Rye cemetery. Bearers W.H. Tripp, Frank E. Brown, George H. Haynes, Walter B. Wells, Ralph L. Cass and N. Scott Munroe.

EPSOM, Nov. 3 - The funeral services for Frank E. Brown were held Sunday afternoon at the Epsom Baptist church with a large attendance of relatives and friends and many floral tributes.
Rev. Alfred Luce officiated. Mrs. Grace McKay was organist and Charles B. Yeaton, soloist.
Bearers were John Cox, George H. Yeaton, John B. Yeaton and Gerald Pickard, all of Epsom. Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Brown of Concord; Mr. & Mrs. Charles Call, Mrs. Clara Towle, and Mrs. Emma Kenney, Chichester; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest MacNeal, Hooksett; Elmer MacNeal, Suncook; Mrs. Patricia Crafts, Pembroke; Charles B. Yeaton, Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Ashton Davis, Bruce Davis, Mr and Mrs. Howard Heath, and Miss Elizabeth Heath, all of Saugus, Mass.
Burial was in the New Rye cemetery with Rev. Luce conducting the committal services.
FRANK EVERETT BROWN died suddenly October 30, 1953. He was born in Epsom April 1, 1891, the son of William and Sarah (Nickerson) Brown. He lived and worked as a farmer in Epsom all his life. He was well known to people in surrounding towns where he drove a meat truck for many years. He married Lulu Davis, April 19, 1928. He is survived by his wife, a son William, a step-daughter Mrs. Ruth Krenn and a step-son John D. Davis. Mr. Brown was a member and trustee of Epsom Baptist Church and a member of McClary Grange for nearly half a century.
He took an active part in civic affairs serving as select- man, a member of the School Board, and on the budget committee of which he was a member at the time of his death. (from 1954 Town Report)
Owned two houses on Sanborn Hill Road, one on the New Rye side and one on the Sanders side, both which fell into decay.
