General Notes: Husband - Hiram F. Thomas

EPSOM -- Hiram F. Thomas, 94, a resident of Epsom for more than 54 years, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Genesis Health Care Center in Laconia following a brief illness.
He was born in Thomasville, Nova Scotia, the son of Bert and Winifred (Newell) Thomas.
He was the founder and longtime operator of the Granite State Alarm Co. in Manchester. He was a member of the Epsom Bible Church and worked for years doing odd jobs at the church and working the men's prayer breakfast. He was a 33-degree mason. He loved fishing and hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. He was always referred to by his nephews and nieces as the favorite uncle.
His wife, Carolyn (Reams) Thomas, died in March of 2004, and he was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Craig Thomas.
His surviving family includes two sons, Ted F. Thomas of Northwood and Win O. Thomas of St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kelley Cavanaugh of Manchester, Stephanie Thomas of Northwood and Matthew Thomas of Mars Hill, Maine; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton Thomas and Hilbert Thomas, both of Nova Scotia; and a sister, Avis Dexter of Nova Scotia; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Epsom Bible Church. The Rev. John Spring, pastor, will officiate.
A collation will follow the service at the church. Burial of the urn will be in the McClary Cemetery, Epsom, in the spring.
General Notes: Wife - Carolyn Reames

EPSOM - Carolyn Reams Thomas, 92, died Friday at Epsom Manor.
She was born in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Walter and Olive (Mann) Reams. She was the first child born on that settlement.
She traveled all over the country before moving to Epsom in 1951.
She worked for many years as a clerk, and her last and favorite job was working in the State House Annex.
Thomas was an active member of the Epsom Bible Church, singing in the choir and playing piano. She was the primary facilitator behind the merging of the Word of Life and Epsom Baptist churches to form the Epsom Bible Church.
She was involved in the Ladies Missionary Society of Epsom for many years. She was also a two-time past president of the Epsom PTA.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Hiram Thomas of Epsom; two sons, Ted Thomas of Northwood and Winfred Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Marden of Epsom and Dorothia Cullen of Lake Placid, Fla.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Jeffrey Thomas, died in 1996.
Calling hours will not be held.
A celebration of her life will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Epsom Bible Church. The Rev. John Spring, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family at McClary Cemetery.
