Paper Unknown
Harvey J. Wells, one of Epsom's best young men, was called "home" February 25, after a long illness.
Mr. Wells was born in Epsom November 29, 1875 and was the son of James L. and Abbie Meserve Wells. He spent several years of his life in Concord but four years ago, on account of sickness, he gave up his position as manager of Nelson's Dep't Store and came to Epsom.
He was a member of the Free Baptist church in this place and was also affiliated with Evergreen Lodge, I.O.O. F. April 7, 1902 Mr. Wells was united in marriage to Miss Loella M. Marden by who he is survived and by one sister, Mrs. Guy T. Pike.
Following prayers at the home at 1 P.M. the funeral was held in the Free Will Baptist church Sunday at 2 P.M. and was very largely attended. Rev. W.J. Gordon officiated and the singing was by a quartette from Chichester, consisting of Mrs. Charles Langmaid, Mrs. Edward Edmunds, P. LeClare Towle and Fred B. Shaw.
Evergreen Lodge attended the services in a body Noble Grand Ernest Heath and Chaplain Norman Monroe conducted the ritual service of the order. The bearers were Horace Edmunds, Burt Young, Walter Philbrick and W.C. Burnham. Interment was in McClary Cemetery.
