No. 1 on the twenty fifth day of March A.D. 1848
Benvolio Sanborn was Chosen Moderator of said meeting and sworn
B.L. Locke Clerk of said District and sworn
George Sanders was chosen Prudential Committee for said District
Read the report of last year's committee, voted to accept the report
Voted that the balance of school money now in the hands of the last
years committee be paid to the above named committee, it being $7.76
Voted that the Clerk of said district purchase a Book of Record for
said District and call on the committee for the pay for the same.
Voted that the Prudential Committee be invited to employ the last years
Mistress Sarah E. Locke to teach the summer school.
Voted that the summer school commence on the first Monday after the
twentieth of May next.
Voted that one third of the school money ne expended in a summer school.
Voted that the winter school commence on the first Monday after the
twentieth of November next.
Voted to sell three cords of wood at auction, for the use of winter
school.

8th Voted that H.F. Sanborn keep the winter school provided that he keep

9th On motion of B.L. Locke, voted that the wood for the use of the school
in said District be good hard wood free from smut. To be cut, split and
corded up on or before the first day of June in each and every year and
piled suitable to be measured and measured by a surveyor of wood and sawed
in the middle and piled into the porch on or before the first day of October
on each year, until the district otherwise orders.
10th Voted to purchase three cords of wood for the use of the school
11 E.T. Sanders is to furnish the first cord for two dollars and seventy
cts. Nathan Griffin Jr. the second cord at two dollars and forty eight
cts. E.T. Sanders the third cord at two dollars and thirty eight cents.
12 Sold the ashes that is to be made the ensuing year to J.C. Hall at
14 cents.
13th Voted that there be no singing school kept in the schoolhouse while
the day school is keeping
14th On motion, voted that there be no meetings held in the schoolhouse
while the school is keeping.

T.L. Steele was chosen moderator and he took the oath of office.
Voted to build a new schoolhouse
Voted to raise 400 dollars by a tax to defray the expense thereof
Voted to appoint a committee of three to sell the old house; and appropriate
the proceeds to the furnishing the new one
Voted to appoint a committee of 3 to draw a plan for a new house, contract
for the building thereof, accept the same, and report to the district;
and H.F. Sanborn, John Griffin Jr. and B.M. Heath were appointed said
committee
Voted to have the house completed by the 1st of June 1852
Voted that the contract for building be made by sealed proposals to the
committee

H.F. Sanborn was chosen moderator of said meeting, who being present,
took the oath of office as prescribed by law.
Na. Griffin 2nd was chosen clerk, who being present, took the oath of
office as prescribed b law.
Joseph Lawrence Jr. was chosen prudential committee for the ensuing year,
who being present, took the oath of office as prescribed by law.
Voted to have a report from the committee to repair the schoolhouse.
Heard and voted to accept said report.
Voted to paint the schoolhouse
Voted that the painting be done by the lowest bidder; - the house to be
painted with 3 coats of pure white lead, and good linseed oil, to the
acceptance of a committee; and to be done by the 20th April 1852.
Voted to new plaster the schoolhouse and that it be done by the lowest
bidder and completed by April 20th 1852, to the acceptance of a committee.
The painting was bid off by B.M. Heath for $19.00 and the plastering
by Job Sanders for $7.75
Voted that the former committee on repairing the house be a committee
to see to and accept the painting and plastering.
Voted to raise $9 - in addition to the sum voted last year to be raised
to complete the repairs on the schoolhouse
Heard and accepted the report of prudential committee for 1851
Voted to sell the old stove at auction - sold to Jos. Lawrence Jr. for
$0.90
Purchased two cords of wood for the use of the school Jos. Lawrence Jr.
is to furnish the first cord for $2.65; and Jonathan S. Chesley the second
for $2.65.
Voted that the summer school commence Monday after May 20th
Voted that the winter school commence Monday nearest November 20th
Voted that the porch to the schoolhouse be underpinned and the door stone
set - let at auction to J.S> Chesley for $0.45
Voted to expend one third of the school money in a summer school

Jr. for $0.06

the oath of office prescribed by law.
Nathan Griffin 2nd was chosen clerk, who being present took the oath of
office as prescribed by law.
S.A. H. Weeks was chosen prudential committee for the ensuing year -
Voted to buy 1 ½ cords wood for the use of the school to be furnished
by the lowest bidder; and it was bid off by E. Locke Jr. at $2.60 per
cord
Voted that 1/3 of the money be expended in a summer school to commence
on Monday after May 20th
Voted that the winter school commence on Monday after Nov. 20th
Voted that 5 per cent of the school money of the present year be reserved
for repairs of the schoolhouse and to pay what remains unpaid on the repairs
of the schoolhouse last year
Heard the report of the Prudential Committee for last year; and voted
to accept the same.
Voted that $0.45 now in the hands of Jos. Lawrence Jr. be not called for.
Sold the aches to be made in the schoolroom to J.C. Hall for $0.08

day of March inst at 4 o'clock P.M., pursuant to notice,
D.M. Knowles was chosen moderator of said meeting, who being present
took the oath of office as prescribed by law
Na Griffin 2nd was chosen clerk, who being present took the oath of office
as prescribed by law
John C. Hall was chosen prudential committee for the ensuing year, who
being present took the oath of office as prescribed by law.
Voted that the summer school begin Monday following May 20th
Voted that the winter school begin the first Monday in November
Voted that 1/3 of the money be expended for a summer school
Heard the report of last year's committee and voted to accept the same
Voted to purchase 2 ½ cords of wood to be furnished by the lowest
bidder. 1st cord was bid off by Jonathan S. Chesley $2.90; 1 ½
cords was bid off by Na Griffin 2ns at $2.90 per cord
Sold the ashes to be made the ensuing year to John C. Hall for $0.14

Griffin Jr. received nine votes and that being the whole no. cast, he
was declared elected and he being present took the oath of office prescribed

2nd Proceeded to ballot for clerk for the ensuing year Chas. J. Brown
received twelve votes and that being the whole No. cast was declared elected,

and eighty five dollars to the motion of Mr. Wallace to raise fifteen
dollars with which to repair the present school house making the whole

taxation

To Jonathan S. Chesley of Epsom in the County of Merrimack
Whereas there is a vacancy in the office of Prudential Committee of school
district No. 1 in said town and application has been made by one or more
legal voters of said district to fill said vacancy; and whereas we have
confidence in your capacity and fidelity, we do appoint you a prudential
committee of said school district; and upon your taking the oath of office
and having the same recorded in the record book of said district you shall
possess all the powers and be subject to all the liabilities incident
to said office until another committee is legally chosen and qualified
in your stead.

The meeting was called to order by Daniel G. Chesley, clerk of said meeting.
The whole number of tickets given in for moderator was six; of which Henry
F. Sanborn had four votes and was declared moderator, and in open meeting
took the oath of office by law prescribed
(2) The whole number of tickets given in for clerk was eight of which
Daniel G. Chesley has seven votes and was declared elected clerk by the
moderator, and in open meeting took the oath of office by law prescribed.
(3) The whole number of tickets given in for prudential committee was
seven; of which Henry F. Sanborn received six votes and was declared elected
prudential committee by the moderator
(4) Voted that the prudential committee consist of one person
(5) Heard the report of committee of last year.

(7) Voted that the 5th article of the warrant be suspended
(8) Voted to raise such a sum of money* by taxation as is sufficient

of Epsom, qualified to vote in district affairs - at the school house
in said district on the twentieth day of March 1883 at two o'clock in
the afternoon:
The meeting was called to order by the Moderator (Daniel G. Chesley)
and proceeded to transact the following business:
2nd chose a moderator for the ensuing year
Whole number of votes cast - 10
Josiah D. Langley had 1
Daniel G. Chesley had 9 and was elected and being present took the oath
of office as provided by law
1st chose a clerk for ensuing year
Whole number of votes cast - 8
Christopher S. Heath had 8 and was elected, and being present took the
oath of office as provided by law
3rd chose a prudential committee for ensuing year
Whole number of votes cast - 17
