Will of Thomas Rand 1865
Be
it remembered that I Thomas Rand of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State
of New Hampshire, husbandman, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life
and being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form following viz:
1 I give and bequeath
unto my granddaughter Helen Eliza Thayer daughter of Eliza B. Thayer the sum of
one dollar. I do also give and bequeath unto my eldest son Jacob B. Rand one dollar.
2
I do also give and bequeath unto my two granddaughters Martha Elizabeth Rand and
Ellen Clough Rand, daughters of my son Newell Rand, one dollar each.
3 I so
also give and bequeath unto my two daughters Mary Jane Chadwick and Rebecca S.
Rand one dollar each
4 I do give and bequeath and devise unto my beloved wife
Sally Rand the residue of my estate whether real or personal whatever and wherever
it may be found after paying the above mentioned legacies and all of my just debts
to be hers as long as she shall remain my widow and no longer. And when my wife
Sally Rand shall cease to be my widow by death or otherwise, it is my will that
the said residue of all my real and personal estate of what kind so-ever shall
go to my youngest son George Henry Rand to him and to his heirs to inherit forever.
Lastly,
I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Sally Rand sole Executrix of this
my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this twenty fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and fifty five.
