EPSOM PROBATE RECORDS WILL OF SAMUEL OSGOOD - 1819 WILL of Samuel Osgood - 1819
1st My will is that my just debts and funeral charges be first paid out of my estate by my executrix hereafter names and the remaining part of my Estate I dispose of as follows viz - 1st I give to my wife Abigail Osgood one third part of my homestead farm where I now live and the East room in my dwelling house, a privilege in my kitchen and cellars and a sufficiency of fire wood for one fire yearly and every year during the time she may remain my widow and the property bequeathed to my wife as aforesaid shall be carried on and cultivated by my Executrix and the full one half of all the produce raised from the same to be given to my said wife yearly and every year during the time she may remain my widow and also the one sixth part of the wool produced from my sheep during said term and I also give my said wife all the household furniture that she brought to my house forever. 2d I give to my grand children being the children of my son Abraham Osgood, deceases, the following sums viz - to Lucy Osgood, Elinor Osgood, Hannah Osgood, Polly Osgood, Elizabeth Osgood, David Osgood, Lydia Osgood and True Osgood one dollar each to be paid to them in one year after my decease by my executrix. 3d I give to my daughter Elinor Randall twenty dollars to be paid in one year after my decease. 4th I give to my daughter Polly Ham twenty dollars to be paid her in one year after my decease 5th I give to my daughter Lydia Dickey twenty dollars to be paid her in one year after my decease 6th I give to my daughter Hannah Dickey twenty dollars to be paid to her in one year after my decease 7th I give to my daughter Sally Osgood twenty dollars to be paid to her in two years after my decease and also as much household furniture as my other daughters had when they were married and should the said Sally marry before my decease then she is to be furnished with the household furniture but should the said Sally not marry but live a single life, then and in such case she shall have a privilege in my house and when unable to support herself in a single life, then she is to be supported out of my estate. I also give to my daughter Sally Osgood one sheep at my decease, all the legacies before mentioned to be paid by my Executrix. 8th I give my grand daughter Elizabeth Osgood, daughter of my son Isaac Osgood and to my grand daughter Polly Osgood, one dollar each and it is hereby to be understood that all the legacies before mentioned are to be paid by my executrix out of my estate as also my estate as also my debts and funeral charges. 9th I give to my daughter in law Elizabeth Osgood, wife of my late son Isaac Osgood a maintenance out of my estate during the time she may remain a widow 10th All the rest and
residue of my estate both real and personal wheresoever and whatsoever
I will and bequeath to my two grandsons Samuel Osgood and to Abraham
Osgood, son of Isaac Osgood, to be equally divided betwixt them,
to there heirs and assigns forever, hereby revoking all wills by
me before made hereby ratifying this to be my last Will and Testament
- And I hereby ordain an appoint Elizabeth, widow of my son Isaac
Osgood, sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament - and
further m Will is that my granddaughters Elizabeth Osgood and Polly
Osgood have a maintenance out of my estate till they arrive to the
age of eighteen years unless sooner married and if sooner married
