EPSOM PROBATE RECORDS WILL OF DEACON NATHAN MARDEN - 1787 WILL of Nathan Marden In the name of God Amen.
This twentieth Day of April 1787 - I Nathan Marden of Epsom Husbandman
being advanced in years, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be
given to God therefore, calling to mind the mortality of my Body
and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die - do make
& ordain this my last Will and Testament, this is to say principally
& first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands
of God that gave it & my body I recommend to the earth to be
buried in a christian like manner at the distintion of my Executor
here after named, nothing doubting but the general Resurection I
shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God And as touching
such worldy estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in
this life, I give bequeath and dispose of the same in the following
manner: In the name of God Amen
I Nathan Marden signer of the foregoing Will and Testament being
of a sound mind & memory and upon (natural?) & deliberate
consideration so make the following alteration in my said last Will
that is to say the Household furniture wherein mentioned that I
gave to my daughter Judith Marden which in the words following Viz
"And all the Household Furniture in my possesion that was left
by her mother Susanna Marden late deceased to be her own forever"
I now give and bequeath to my Daughter in Law Sarah Marden forever.
In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th
day of May 1808 pronounced and declared by the said Nathan Marden
to be a Codicil to his last will and testament in presence of us
the subscribers. - Nathan Marden |
