EPSOM PROBATE RECORDS WILL OF JOSEPH LAWRENCE 1890 WILL OF JOSEPH LAWRENCE - 1890 Be it remembered that I Joseph Lawrence of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire being of sound mind and memory, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being desirous of disposing of my worldly estate while I have strength and capacity so to do, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament and herein dispose of my worldly estate in manner following to wit First I direct my executor herein named to pay all my just debts and funeral charges as soon as may be after my decease. Second I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Lawrence Jr. all my farming tools of every kind that I may own at the time of my decease. Third I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Lucy M. Lawrence all my personal property wherever found and however situated that I may own at the time of my decease except the farming tools hereinbefore mentioned, and I give, bequeath and devise to my said wife the house and lot which I own situated in Gossville so called in said Epsom. Fourth I give and bequeath to my children as follows: To my daughter Emily A. Griffin the sum of Fifty Dollars; to my daughter Mary F. Lawrence the sum of Two Hundred Dollars; to my daughter Helen M. Carter the sum of Twenty-five dollars; to my daughter Ila M. Bulfinch the sum of Fifty Dollars; to my son Abbott Lawrence the sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Dollars. Fifth I give and bequeath to my grandchildren as follows. To Ada L. Clark, Hattie R. Fogg and Eldora L. Fogg, children of my daughter Emily A. Griffin; Elva M. Bulfinch, child of my daughter Ila Bulfinch, and Eva A. Lawrence, daughter of my son Joseph Lawrence Jr., the sum of Five Dollars each. To Fred L. Bulfinch, the son of my daughter Ila Bulfinch, the sum of Fifty Dollars. To Joseph Lawrence, the child of my son Abbott Lawrence the sum of One Hundred Dollars. To J. Arthur Griffin, son of my daughter Emily A. Griffin the sum of Fifty Dollars. Sixth I give bequeath and devise to my wife Lucy M. Lawrence a home at the house where I now reside if she wishes to live there with my son Joseph Lawrence Jr. I also give bequeath and devise to my daughter Mary F. Lawrence a home at said house as long as she remains unmarried. Seventh All the rest residue and remainder
of my estate wherever found and however situated I give, bequeath and devise to
my son Joseph Lawrence Jr. forever subject to the payment of the aforesaid legacies
to my children and grandchildren. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety.
