EPSOM PROBATE RECORDS

WILL OF DAVID OSGOOD - 1833

WILL of David Osgood - 1833

In the name of God Amen. I David Osgood of Concord in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, yeoman, considering the uncertainty of this mortal live and being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say,

First, I do give and bequeath two hundred dollars to the Rev. Nathaniel Bouton of Concord the interest of which to be by him laid out and extended at his discretion for the benefit of schooling poor children in the said town of Concord, his heirs and assigns forever.

I do also give and bequeath two hundred dollars to my nephew Timothy Furnald of Northwood.
I do also give and bequeath one hundred dollars to my niece Mary Ann Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball of Mexico in the state of Maine.
I do also give and bequeath to my niece Eliza Lord Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball, fifteen dollars
I do also give and bequeath to my niece Lucy Jane Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball, fifteen dollars
I do also give and bequeath to my niece Caroline Eaton Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball, fifteen dollars
I do also give and bequeath to my niece Jennett Barrell Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball, fifteen dollars
I do also give and bequeath to my niece Elinor Osgood Kimball, daughter of my late sister Lucy Kimball, fifteen dollars
I do also give and bequeath to my honored mother Lucy Osgood of Concord, forty dollars
I do also will and order the foregoing legacies with all my honest debts and funeral charges be paid out of my estate before the following divisions be made of my property.
I do also will and order that all the remainder of my property real and personal be divided equally among my brothers and sisters viz.
I do give bequeath and devise unto my sister Hannah Virgin wife of Leavitt C. Virgin, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do give bequeath and devise unto my sister Mary Furnald, wife of Timothy Furnald of Northwood, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do also give and devise unto my sister Betsy Lord, wife of Edward D. Lord of Epsom, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do also give and bequeath unto my sister Lydia Gleason wife of Carleton Simeon Gleason of Mexico in the State of Maine, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do also give bequeath and devise unto my brother Samuel Osgood of Canterbury, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do also give devise and bequeath unto my brother True Morrill Osgood of the State of Ohio, one sixth part of my said property, her heirs and assigns forever
I do further will and order that my body shall have a decent burial, and lastly I do hereby appoint my brother Samuel Osgood of Canterbury executor to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
