General
John Stark - An American Hero
Richard Wright presented an entertaining
impersonation of General John Stark, a genuine
hero of the American Revolution. Mr. Wright
is a member of the New Hampshire Society
of the Sons of the American Revolution who
has received accolades for his presentation
of the character and personality of the
legendary John Stark. Complete in uniform,
Mr. Wright presented a portait of the General
from his early home in Derry to his service
in the Revolutionary War. In addition, the
General's character was much discussed with
additional information on his family and
contributions to the State, including the
motto "Live Free or Die". A business
meeting was held prior to the program with
information about the Epsom Historical Center
and the upcoming fundraiser. Mr. John Atwood
spoke for a moment about the old McClary
House. The speaker was introduced by Carleton
Rand. Refresments followed.
